THE DOMAIN
GrayDecay is finally the place where my imagery can rest surrounded by my own visions in an exclusive space. It really feels good, after years of having my works here and there. I really needed an official portfolio, and here it is. The title and the aesthetic of this domain has no specific inspiration but my own works and recurrent thoughts. After thinking and thinking in words that could describe my creations I realized that these two I picked and joint are related in more aspects that in their sound; the paleness that every color gains with time is the soft touch of gray, the time, living through every single existence is its unavoidable decay. I hope that said all that, there are no questions about my pseudonym either ;)
This site exists in a great part thanks to Luis , who helped me with all the encoding and upload and always gave me his thoughtful critiques about my first ideas for this place. Thank you!
THE CREATOR
I'm actually studying graphic design; besides the long and hard works that steal my sleep all nights I always have visual obsessions in my head, always have spontaneous images that come in a constant flow as I try to retain them in sketches, no sense titles, and never finished compositions.
I've turned 20 the last January the 30th but didn't tried to express myself through digital art until the end of 2002 (I was 16 years old), but back then I just got frustrated with the computer and my lack of skills. I started again at 2004 when I opened an account at DeviantArt and started to get feedback and inspiration from specific artists and galleries I feel very connected to.
INSPIRATIONS
From the biggest masters of the chiaroscuro in Baroque times and romanticism's passioned expression, to the most simple and agonizing ray of light touching a surface. I'm also a music devoted and as many artists, I find it one of my best sources of inspiration. I guess that just seeing the title of my works you will know the kind of sounds I'm attracted.
